BarleyLife: Looks, Nutrition and Taste

#1 The Clump Factor

For testing purposes only, not consumption, AIM has conducted “hot water” experiments for years. When barley grass powders of competitors are added to hot water, the powders disperse and dissolve, becoming light green liquid because, unlike BarleyLife, these products are processed using heat that essentially kills any active enzymes. If nothing is living in a product, there’s
no point in consuming it.

When BarleyLife powder is added to hot water, it clumps, which is a good thing. The juice powder of barley plants coagulates in hot liquid because its enzymes are active, not dead. We don’t call it BarleyLife for nothing!

#2 Superoxide Dismutase

One of the many active enzymes in BarleyLife is superoxide dismutase (SOD), a powerful antioxidant that counteracts the damaging effects of the ever-present free radical superoxide. As long as you’re breathing, you cannot avoid superoxide. Even though the body can produce superoxide dismutase to protect you, the more you supplement with the SOD in BarleyLife, the more protection you get from superoxide damage. AIM regularly tests for the presence of SOD to measure its antioxidant capacity. High levels of this enzyme indicate freshness and the cool temperatures used to make BarleyLife.

#3 Chlorophyll

AIM has taken a lot of care over the years to improve the levels of chlorophyll in BarleyLife. Monitoring the fields of barley before harvest to optimize nutrient levels has increased the level of chlorophyll from 19 mg per serving to 22 mg per serving. It may not sound like a lot, but it is an enormous increase.

#4 Some Like It Frothy

Mix BarleyLife with cold water in a shaker cup and you’ll notice a frothy head of green foam on top. Once again, this indicates freshness and life within the powder that AIM has developed over the years. This froth adds a creamy note when you drink BarleyLife this way. Many people enjoy this creamy texture; it’s a healthy enjoyment. Some people consume the powder dry while others avoid the fresh grass taste by taking capsules. To froth or not to froth . . . all are healthy choices simply by taking BarleyLife.

AIM is committed to improvements that make BarleyLife rawer, fresher and better overall.

BarleyLife Babies

BarleyLife Babies

For AIM Chairman’s Club Directors Ken and Lanny Donald, becoming grandparents carried a triple twist of fate. Their daughters, Kalina and Jensina, both gave birth in September 2014 only four days apart. Kalina’s twin boys, Kaelan and Keiran, came first followed by Jensina’s son, Kaius. In the space of less than a week, Ken and Lanny suddenly had three grandkids. This welcome trio of boys has blessed the lives of the Donalds, their extended family and friends.

Both Kalina and Jensina have taken AIM products for years, and during their pregnancies, they primarily took AIM BarleyLife® and AIM LeafGreens™ to boost their energy levels and maintain a healthy nutritional intake.

Shortly after giving birth, Kalina received some guidance from Kathleen Bird-Ekman, an AIM Preferred Member who is also a nutritional consultant, as to when she could give BarleyLife to her twins. Kathleen’s seven-year-old son, Robert, and three-year-old daughter, Alexandra, have enjoyed AIM greens from the time they were about six months old and both children are incredibly healthy.

The Donald’s preferred method of using BarleyLife has always been to take the powder dry. “I found that when I tried to give my boys BarleyLife on a spoon, their breath blew most of the powder away,” Kalina stated, realizing it was time for a different method. “I noticed that when the canister was left open and there was humidity in the air, the powder would form into little clumps. I decided to mist water on some of the powder and roll it into little balls. Voila! BarleyLife candy,” Kalina exclaimed.

This became the ideal delivery method for all three of Ken and Lanny’s grandchildren. “Kaius goes wild when you walk toward him with a BarleyLife canister,” Jensina stated. “And Kaius, Kaelan and Keiran all love it.” In fact, both moms relate that thirty minutes before milk time, their children’s facial expressions signal they’re clamoring for BarleyLife. They suck on these healthy BarleyLife balls and end up with greenish-black lips and faces. But it keeps the boys healthy, and they rarely get sick.

Recently, Kalina and Jensina have been giving the boys the Garden Trio to increase their nutritional intake. And both moms have upped their own AIM intakes for very good reasons. “Because they are actively moving around now, we’re more exhausted now than when they were newborns,” Jensina admitted. “We’d be dead in the water without AIM products.”

My Gluten-Free Journey

GF Journey

By Brittany Burkfield, AIM Director

All my life, I have had digestive and intestinal issues. Calling one of my parents to bring medicine to help me with my awful stomach pains became a normal routine in elementary school. I learned to avoid “rich” foods because they would make me sick if I ate them. In college, I gained weight and had bad stomach reactions, so I decided to go to the Seattle IBS Clinic to get a blood test for food allergies. When the results came back, I learned that I suffered from gluten intolerance. This explained my lifelong struggle.

I’m a stubborn person, and I hated the thought of being allergic to something. I tried eating gluten again after a few months of being off the stuff. Unfortunately my body wasn’t having any of it, and I became sick. So I learned my lesson. No more cheating for me.

A gluten-free diet isn’t a diet. It’s a lifestyle change. Gluten is a substance found in certain grains, mostly wheat. Anything made from wheat flour contains gluten. There are a lot of people who go on diets where they eliminate carbs or bread or whatever, but the majority of people who go gluten-free need to because they have been diagnosed with celiac disease and want a healthier lifestyle.

When I went gluten-free the most drastic thing that happened was that I lost fifty pounds. I also haven’t gotten sick nearly as often. Growing up, I suffered from a skin condition called pilaris keratosis where tiny red bumps that felt like sandpaper sprouted all over my arms and legs. I also had hyperhidrosis, an excess of sweat even when I was cold. Since I removed the gluten from my diet, my skin has smoothed out, and I only sweat when it’s hot.

Every morning I start with an AIM shake: ProPeas®, fit ’n fiber™ and CoCoa LeafGreens® in coconut milk and a tiny spoonful of certified gluten-free natural peanut butter. Just this can keep me full for my whole workday. I also supplement with GlucoChrom®, Frame Essentials®, AIMega®, FloraFood®, PrepZymes®, and Bear Paw Garlic®.

And since BarleyLife® has such a minute percentage of trace gluten, it’s pretty much gluten negligible. Even with my really bad sensitivity, I can drink it no problem.

There is absolutely no health detriment caused by removing gluten from your diet. Sometimes
the price of a gluten-free product is a little more expensive. Sure, it takes some getting used to when you go to the grocery store or eat out, but we live in a time where it’s so easy to find good food products that cater to people with food allergies. There has been a diet revolution going on, and the great thing about it is that it’s starting to show up in the mainstream.

Even if you’re not allergic to gluten, I would highly recommend incorporating some gluten-free alternatives into your diet. Even a small change can yield a huge and positive impact.

Nutritional Strides with AIM

NikolaMelinda

Recently, two of our Australian contingency undertook foot odysseys. Star Sapphire Director and Naturopath Nikola Wilkie marched beachside next to thunderous waves down the coast of western Victoria, Australia, and AIM Australian General Manager, Melinda Lewis walked through the Southern Alps, and both were powered by AIM products.

Nikola’s Journey
I walked 115km (71 miles) of the Great Ocean Walk along the coast line of western Victoria. It was a moderate walk with some difficult stretches. Carrying my own water for the day, food, and clothing ready for a change of weather was heavy enough to make me sink deeply into the sand along the beaches. In preparation for the walk, I had only been doing two laps at the Red Arrow, a popular hill circuit in Cairns, three or four times a week. Not much really, so I was expecting to suffer a bit during the seven-day walk.

I started each morning with AIM’s BarleyLife®, Just Carrots®, and RediBeets®, a heaping teaspoon of each and mid-morning another Garden Trio®, mid-afternoon another one. Each night, I slept well—after a 20km (12 miles) walk up hill and across sandy beaches, who wouldn’t?—and woke refreshed and bright. I was a bit stiff in the joints as I got out of bed on the first day, but after that I was amazingly good. I had plenty of energy, was alert and not too tired. My feet were worn out at the end of the day but by the next morning, I was good to go again.

I am so impressed with the effect of the juices. They kept my lactic acid levels low, the inflammation levels of my under-used joints as almost un-noticeable, my energy up and my mind alert. I couldn’t have asked for more.

Melinda’s Journey

Each year I participate in a walking holiday, and this year was a twelve-day adventure to the Southern Alps bordering France and Italy. I was with a group of eighteen, and we walked up to 18km (11 miles) per day with altitude increases of up to 950m (3,117 ft). Most days our walks started in towns and villages that were around 1200m (3,937 ft) above sea level.

After five days of walking, I witnessed the group’s fitness levels increasing. The steeper ascents didn’t feel as arduous. Keep in mind that to participate in one of these tours, a good degree of fitness and health is required. Strength and resistance training is also needed. We were up around 2900m (9,514 ft), and some parts of the walk were so rough and steep that some walkers would take as little as five steps and would be out of breath.

On the last day, we visited the peak of Mt. Blanc. Of the eighteen, only two of us were able to walk up and down steps and around the viewing platform—3842m (12,605 ft) above sea level— without becoming breathless or suffering from dizziness. Most other visitors struggled with the altitude. Also, it was amazing to watch members of the group downing multiple cups of Italian espressos to get them started each day. I didn’t feel the need for this. I took an AIM Red Rush™ nitric oxide performance shot one hour before our walks commenced. The beauty of it all was that a twelve-pack of Red Rush fit perfectly in my suitcase.

Dixie Shaw: Mom Knows Best!

Dixie Shaw

Dixie Shaw, Royal Emerald Director from Gilmer, Texas, knows nutrition. She and her husband Eddie own and operate an online health store where they sell the AIM products alongside other equipment essential to a healthy lifestyle. She discovered AIM shortly after giving birth to one of their children. “I wanted to lose weight and get in shape,” Dixie said. A friend told her to try AIM Herbal Fiberblend. After using it for a few months, she signed up as a Member.

“I use AIM BarleyLife often, but Herbal Fiberblend is probably my favorite product. I take it almost every day. We use a lot of the other AIM products: Cell Wellness Restorer, CalciAIM, AIMega, Composure and CellSparc 360. Our new favorite product is AIM Red Rush. We rotate in a lot of the other products when we need them.”

Dixie also knows motherhood. She’s had five children and home-schooled them all. Reading, writing and arithmetic weren’t the only things that she instilled in her kids. She also taught them the value of eating right and healthy living.

“We took BarleyLife nearly every day. We ate healthy and cooked everything from scratch. We ground our own grains and almost never ate out. I taught them everything that I could about nutrition. They’d listen to me talking to clients on the phone. I showed them how to read food labels at the supermarket. If one of them brought home something like a cake mix full of artificial ingredients, I didn’t like that too well. I’d say ‘We don’t do that here.’ We tried to make everything from scratch. Then you know what goes into your food. Our youngest child just graduated chef school and became a chef.”

Today, Dixie and Eddie’s children are all grown. The oldest is thirty-three and the youngest—a fan of dry BarleyLife while growing up—is twenty-one years old, each one of them married. They all remember AIM conferences fondly. The first conference they attended as a family was in Phoenix, and the whole clan even journeyed all the way to Hawaii. The Utah conference was the final AIM-related trip the Shaws made together.

“My kids were almost never sick. Little kids are sick all the time, but ours just weren’t. We hardly have anyone sick in our family. That’s probably our greatest AIM success story. After using the products for twenty years, we are still healthy. We look about ten years younger than our actual ages. That’s something I’ve noticed about a lot of AIM Members. I think it’s the anti-aging effects of the products. I love that.”

BarleyLife Keeps You Strong and Healthy

BarleyLife Pics

Ever since The AIM Companies™ introduced the juice powder of barley grass back in 1982, the world as we know it was given the gift of health. Those who have made AIM BarleyLife® a daily part of their nutritional intake know it keeps them strong and healthy. For everyone else, it’s time to get on board the BarleyLife health insurance plan.

The key to BarleyLife’s effectiveness is that it is first and foremost organic in nature, just like people. We are not synthesized in laboratories like so many synthetic supplements, including vitamins, minerals, etc. People are natural and respond exceedingly well to the rich, natural source of nutrients in BarleyLife: vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, antioxidants, phytonutrients and enzymes.

It’s a fact: cattle that graze on grass grow strong and healthy. But people can’t chew on blades of grass and expect the same results. That’s why AIM extracts all of the nutritional wealth from barley grass to make it bioavailable for people in a juice powder. These incredible greens are easily absorbed, providing an unparalleled concentration of natural nutrients for the body to build healthy cells—the foundation of strength and health.

For those who still cannot wrap their minds around drinking grass in a glass, BarleyLife comes in capsules as well. That means there is no excuse for not taking BarleyLife to keep you strong and healthy.

Chris van Rensburg: My AIM Journey

Chris van Rensburg

First of all, I would like to thank all our AIM Partners for Life for their ongoing love, care and prayers since I was involved in an air crash on December 1, 2014. I have been so overwhelmed and humbled by the Members who have joined hands with me from around the world and who are faithfully supporting me during this trying time. I have lost my left eye, and we are still praying that I regain some sight in my right eye. I can now start to see light, shapes and can identify the colors red and green.

I find this significant as the two AIM products that are playing a role in the healing process are AIM BARLEYLIFE, the lifeblood of the plant, and AIM RED RUSH which supports oxygen and nourishment to our own human blood. Red is the color of blood, associated with energy and life. Red Rush has been one of AIM’s supplements that we haven’t been able to do without. The color green signifies growth and also represents life. It is the dominant color in nature and is very restful. BarleyLife will always be the most important supplement we take, and this, coupled with nearly
every other AIM product, has played an important part in the healing process that I am going through.

Change is inevitable and tragedy can strike at any time in our lives. Constant change takes place in our personal lives, in our surroundings, in our families and also in our businesses daily. However, what does not change is the way we CHOOSE to address change. And we CHOOSE LIFE – each day brings new LIFE, new opportunities, new dreams, new vision, new goals, new friends and a NEW BEGINNING.

Our journey with AIM started nineteen years ago when Joan had adrenal exhaustion. She brought home a jar of green barley grass because our family was plagued with ill health. We immediately saw an improvement in all of our lives and we have never looked back! As I supported Joan in her passion for improving the lives of others, we saw our AIM business grow. We were not even knowledgeable about the business plan. We grew to love all the products in AIM’s range, traveled to fifteen AIM Conferences and grew our network internationally.

CHRISTOPHER AND NICOLAS
Our boys Christopher and Nicolas traveled with us, and what a privilege we have been afforded to see the world together as a family! Today I am so proud of them, and I am honored to have two adult sons who have stood by me twenty-four hours a day, helping Joan nurse me back to health. They have stood in the gap for me, being my “eyes,” staying by my side as we walk this difficult road together. BarleyLife is the most important supplement we will ever take, and Joan diligently mixed our BarleyLife for us first thing in the morning from day one. Today, although they have both left home, they never start a day without their BarleyLife!

AIM SUPPLEMENTS
I often think of the scripture: “Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.” I am grateful that today we are a healthy family with strong immune systems. This has stood me in good stead as I honestly believe that because I take practically the WHOLE RANGE OF AIM PRODUCTS; my body was strong and healthy when I had the accident. That meant that I have been able to go through the shock, stress and ongoing trauma without any complications, side effects or infections. Joan has increased my dosages, and although I can’t ‘see’ what she gives me three times a day, I know that together with God’s Grace, the products and the AIM Companies play a crucial role in my ongoing recovery.

As I reflect back on my AIM journey over the past 18 years, we saw many changes taking place within the company. However, standing tall amidst all the changes, is a Company of thirty-three years – still solid and firm, with the same mission statement, with the same heart of serving the individual, with the same purpose of reaching people around the world with the same high standard of quality products and with the same excellent compensation plan.

My purpose in 2015 is to be able to continue with my work and keep trusting that I will regain sight in my right eye. I would like to see myself independent again as it is so difficult having to depend on my family for absolutely everything. I cannot thank them enough for the way they have been there unconditionally to serve me every step of the way. My wife Joan also has a new vision to put together training, leadership and business materials and raise up new leaders and promote AIM’s mission statement which provides us with access to the highest principles of free enterprise.

I believe in the power and concept of network marketing and would like to support Joan in focusing on growth in 2015. Each Member is actually a business owner and we would like to support others who are interested in pursuing this avenue. We are so grateful that we have a strong, secure AIM business because this has helped support us since December 1 when Joan had to stop working and nurse me around the clock. That is the advantage of a residual income! May AIM grow from strength to strength, as we forge forward, our mission being “Passion with Purpose” and unleash potential which we haven’t yet tapped into, fulfilling the Purpose to which God has called us in 2015.
