Why BarleyLife Is Unique

Part 1

There are many kinds of barley grass products in the marketplace. None is as good as BarleyLife. It’s a strong statement, and here are some initial reasons that make it a true one.

Barley Whole-Leaf Powder: Bad

Many new Members may not recognize the difference between AIM’s barley leaf juice powder and the whole-leaf powder in other barley grass products.

Under a microscope, whole-leaf powder looks like ground leaves because that is exactly what it is. And when whole leaves of barley grass are dried and ground, you get a mostly indigestible powder with few absorbable nutrients because unlike livestock that grazes on grass, humans cannot digest the cellular walls of grass fiber to release its incredible source of natural nutrients.

AIM has always taken a different approach to accessing the wholesome food available in green barley grass. Obviously, the entire details of the process that AIM has developed over the last three and a half decades cannot be revealed here because our competitors would love to get their hands on this secret information.

Barley Leaf Juice Powder: Good

To begin with, a lot of care and attention goes into making BarleyLife. AIM uses only young barley plants that are short in stature while at the height of their nutrient content. The grass is processed in a way that breaks down the fibrous cellular walls that enclose the nutrients, releasing them so that the juice can be concentrated and dried into an easily digested, bioavailable powder.

This is accomplished by macerating the barley leaves into tiny pieces and putting them into a press that draws out all of the juice. The remaining debris, mostly fiber, is taken away and used as cattle feed or a soil additive. This vital detail once again points out that these indigestible components are included in barley whole-leaf powders made by our competitors.

What’s more, our juicing process is conducted at a low temperature to preserve the nutritional content of the barley leaves. When it reaches the spray drying stage, a low temperature is also used for the same reason. AIM gets the most nutrition out of every single leaf so that Members get the highest quality BarleyLife possible.

Nutrition for Vision

Your five senses are such a daily part of being alive. Yet it is usually only when one of them is compromised that you give it the awareness it deserves.

Take vision as an example. The gift of sight is such an important sense. You only have to close your eyes and imagine never being able to reopen them to sense what life would be like without being able to see. And if you are shortsighted or farsighted, you are fortunate that corrective lenses allow you to at least see far more clearly.

If you are gifted with the sense of sight, the National Eye Institute (NEI) recommends a number of tips to keep your eyes healthy, such as wearing sunglasses, giving your eyes a rest (especially from computer and phone screens) and maintaining a healthy weight (to avoid the increased risk of developing diabetes, which can lead to loss of vision). Another of the NEI’s tips is also a focal point of The AIM Companies™: eat right to protect your sight.

Have You Ever Thought About Nourishing Your Eyes?

The right nutritional choices can help you to maintain healthy vision.

Dark, leafy greens are beneficial for the overall health of your body, given their rich source of nutrients. LeafGreens provides supplemental greens that deliver key nutrients for eye health, including lutein and zeaxanthin from spinach and kale, which also contain beta-carotene. All three nutrients are antioxidants that protect the eyes from oxidative stress.

Carrots are usually one of the first “good for eyesight” vegetables that spring to mind. Just Carrots powder is supplemental whole food that contains a concentration of carrot nutrients, including beta-carotene. Your body converts beta-carotene into vitamin A, which is necessary for the conversion of light energy into electrical energy in the retinas of the eyes. The optic nerve then transmits this energy to the brain, and you have vision.

Eye GinkgoSense

For targeting eye health, GinkgoSense combines an effective ingredient that improves circulation to your eyes and key nutrients that need to be circulated to your eyes. Ginkgo biloba extract increases blood flow to the eyes and brain, making it a healthy herb for vision and memory. Only two carotenoids are present in the maculas of the eyes in sizeable amounts: lutein and zeaxanthin, so it makes sense that these nutrients are also part of the formula. Helping to prevent macular degeneration, omega-3 essential fatty
acids are another GinkgoSense ingredient. In other words, GinkgoSense is an eyeful when it comes to nutrition for vision.

A Case for Supplements

First of all, this is not about a container for your supplements. It’s about making a case for supplements. Wait a minute: now it sounds like a blog about making your own supplement case. And that would just be wrong, so let’s try another paragraph of specifics.

The use of supplements has been debated over several decades with negative and positive opinions aplenty. The words “waste of money” and even “possibly harmful” are the bottom line for the naysayers. But they missed the key factors and the main point in the case for supplements.

Key Factors

All supplements are not created equal, and it is simple as ABC. If a health product does not contain:

  1. High-quality, NATURAL ingredients
  2. Actual ingredient(s) printed on the label
  3. Designated ingredient amounts printed on the label

Then the purchaser has been HAD. The supplement is not going to do much of what it purports to do for the consumer. And there are so many poor quality products (often used in the case against supplements) in the marketplace.

Main Point

The words “food supplement” mean “a substance designed to make up for a deficiency in one’s diet” (Collins English Dictionary). That is the main point of taking supplements: to make up for a deficiency. Not getting enough nutrition in the food you eat is the reason why supplementation makes so much sense.

Nutritional Deficiencies

The 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans reports that the average intake of some essential nutrients, such as potassium, dietary fiber, calcium and vitamin D, is so low as to be a public health concern. Low intakes of other essential nutrients are primarily due to unhealthy food choices.

What if you eat well? Well, research confirms that today’s food crops contain lower amounts of essential nutrients than those grown several decades ago. This is apparently due to soil depletion: “Modern intensive agricultural methods have stripped increasing amounts of nutrients from the soil in which the food we eat grows” (scientificamerican.com).

The Answer

So what do you do? Supplement your nutritional intake with high quality, natural health products: brand name AIM! With an extensive line of “Nutrition that Works!”, The AIM Companies™ has been a tried and true go-to source of supplemental nutrients since 1982.

For example, those in the know know the positive difference the Garden Trio can make to a person’s health. BarleyLife, Just Carrots and RediBeets make up this nutritionally rich threesome that collectively captures all that is beneficial in barley grass, carrots and beets in concentrated powders that are easily assimilated and used by the body. Correcting a nutrient deficiency is as easy as adding the Garden Trio to water, mixing and drinking. A daily drink of this combo is supplemental perfection.

And there are so many more AIM natural health products to explore that make a “convincing” case for supplements. See for yourself by visiting the online product store.

Earth Day — April 22

Since 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated to recognize the importance of caring for the environment. It has become a worldwide event, reflecting the words of celebrated nature writer, Joseph Wood Krutch, who passed away not long after the very first Earth Day:

We’re all in this together.

As it happened, Krutch was whispering these words of togetherness to frogs: peepers that herald the arrival of spring. He would later realize the depth of his arrangement of words.
Many of his pithy thoughts are still worthy of praise:

In light of the earth’s importance to whole food and natural sources of medicine, the protection of the environment is vital to the health of mankind. The AIM Companies™ has always respected this concept since its inception from a field of barley grass, using farming methods that respected the lay of the land long before the concept of organic.

If we think of the body as an organic environment, which it is, then it behooves us to treat our bodies with respect and provide the kind of fuel that allows lifelong good health. The
AIM Healthy Cell Concept™ offers guidelines for protecting the body environment, especially in regard to nutrition along with supplements that provide concentrated whole food to make up for what is lacking in modern food production.

Throughout time, the earth has provided a wealth of plants that can be used medicinally, and AIM has tapped into this natural wealth to provide targeted nutrition for the body. Bones, hearts, joints, minds and more can have their structure and performance boosted with specific nutrients in AIM’s natural health products.

Doing whatever we can to protect the environment around and within us are positive actions that can be applied on Earth Day and every day of our lives. And even with powerful messages from insightful people like Joseph Wood Krutch, actions do speak louder than words. Pithy Joe would probably agree.
