The AIM Journey

Sometimes your journey in life can feel as though you are riding on a train, rolling along the tracks toward your destination. The railroad you find yourself traveling upon may or may not be the tracks you desire.

The compartment you ride in could be coach, business or first class, depending on your initial lot in life perhaps. Along the way, there are usually many stops of interest, distraction and confusion, but eventually you get back on the rails and continue on your way.

There may come a time when you veer off on a totally different track, perhaps because of a fluke that hits a switch and aims you in a direction you never knew existed. To Blog or Not to Blog

In the movie, Contagion, Elliot Gould’s character provides a dismissive view of blogs when he says, “Blogging is not writing. It’s graffiti with punctuation.”

Here at the BarleyLife Blog, it is hoped that the words that have appeared here over the years have moved beyond this negative perspective of unasked for spray-painted designs and have been punctuated by some wishfully interesting articles and useful information. This has always been the goal.

The thing about blogs is that they have a short shelf life. Blogs are custom built in the internet age of instant information and on to the next thing. Unlike graffiti, not a lot of blogs stick to anybody’s wall. It’s a case of read and move on.

That’s why this blog is going to be a little different. It’s going to be a trip down the memory lane of BarleyLife blogs, which could be seen as AIM blowing its own blog horn or simply as an easy way to refocus on some of the good stuff that may have gotten away.

The BarleyLife Blog Past

 Personal Successes and Healthy Cells

Right off the bat, the best way to go on about the benefits of BarleyLife is to hear from some of the many people who have been helped. Here are some personal “Reflections on BarleyLife.”

Drinks Are on Us

Going back to December 2014 adds a little fizz for a blog from the past. With the “5 Reasons to Quit Drinking Soda” there’s lots of evidence to avoid drinking these intentionally pleasant, fizzy, sugar-filled beverages that just aren’t good for you.

Sport drinks continue to be marketed, but none match AIM Peak Endurance. And “5 Reasons Why Peak Endurance Is Better Than Regular Sports Drinks” from February 2015 explains it all. (By the way, an improvement to Peak Endurance provides 200 mg of ATP per serving.)

Some Essentials

What are the essential fats that every body needs daily? The answer lies in “Who Needs Fatty Acids?

The essentials of understanding and combating joint issues are addressed in “The Essentials of Frame Essentials.” Each ingredient is examined for its beneficial properties that promote healthy joints.

One question that keeps being asked is an organic one, so a blog was written to answer “The Organic Question.”

Let’s Make It Personal

Along with questions, people have many stories about how they became AIM Members. Here’s one of those tales that became a blog.

As previously mentioned, a blog of words only goes so far, and it continues to be true that “Actions Speak Louder than Words” even though it’s in a blog.

Looking at and into Supplements

The supplemental choices available also require a question as to how natural they actually are, and AIM gets to the heart of the matter in “Supplements . . . Natural or Synthetic?

Not everyone agrees that supplements are beneficial. Opinions on both sides of the argument have been going on for years. AIM decided that it was a good time for a blog about making a case for supplements.

Doctor’s Orders

The medical community is slowly but surely wrapping its mind around the vital importance of nutrition, especially regarding a diet that reduces meat intake. Some of the doctors at the forefront of this movement in the right direction are revealed in the “Going Plant-Based” blog.

Here’s a suggestion from Dr. Michael Greger that we recommend you try only at home, “Testing Your pH with Purple Cabbage” or you can use the less colorful but effective AIM pH test strips (blog coming soon , , , or not).

Healthy or Not?

The subject of wheat grew exponentially when a heart doctor associated its intake with growing bellies. Borrowing from Shakespeare once again, “To Wheat or Not to Wheat” that is the question.

 Some people consider sleep to be a waste of time, trying to snooze as little as possible to get the most out of their daily hours. Hmm . . . probably of case of “You Snooze You Lose” syndrome . . . .worth blogging about no less.

When Opportunity Knocks …

I’d like to tell you about an opportunity of a lifetime. AIM International is the opportunity of a lifetime that I started taking advantage of back in 1989. It has grown and continues to grow every day. I’m so thankful that it came my way and I grabbed it. I wish you would too.

Since joining AIM, I have gone through the levels of the Member Income Plan from Wholesale Member to Preferred Mem­ber, all the way to reaching the top level of AIM’s Chairman’s Club Director last year. Again, I really am so thankful.

I never realized the opportunity that I had initially. But it has given me so many great experiences, traveling and meeting people all around the world and sharing with them as I continue to build my AIM business.

I am so blessed to have been afforded the chance to have a very nice retirement income. I’m working harder than I ever have, but it’s a great income for me to receive. I am just beyond words. What I never dreamed could happen to me has happened because of AIM. And others can experience this as well, with a little hard work and being blessed.

It’s interesting that some­­thing so incredible in my life could result from something so bad in my life. Almost 30 years ago, I had severe arthritis. Doctors told me that my knees needed to be replaced. Then a friend introduced me to a green powder—BarleyLife. And it was by taking this green powder for only two weeks that my knees quit hurting. Home Meeting Success

A proven way for your business to grow is to share what you know about the AIM products and business opportunity with others. By demonstrating your enthusiasm, people you meet will begin to share your excitement about starting their own business.

Meetings are one method many successful AIM Member Distributors have used to help build their network. Yet many people are hesitant to organize a meeting of their own. Shyness and a fear of addressing a group of people are just a couple of the reasons some Members put off hosting home meetings of their own.

Really, it’s easy. Here’s how:

Preparation

  1. Make a list of friends within driving distance of your home. Especially when you are holding your first couple of meetings, inviting people you are already acquainted with will help you relax and feel at ease with your guests. As you build on your successes, you’ll start to experience one of the greatest pleasures of being an AIM Member business builder: meeting and making new friends.
  2. Send invitations 7 to 10 days before the meeting. Whether your invitation is sent by email, text, by mail or using an online event tool such as Evite, it’s important to give your guests plenty of notice so they can plan their own schedules and make time to attend.
  3. Call everyone a day or two before the meeting and offer them transportation. This serves two purposes: it reminds everyone you’ve invited that the meeting is coming up, and it gives you a chance to help someone who may have run into difficulties making it to your house.
  4. Plan your meeting in advance by designing an agenda.

Agenda

  1. Welcome your guests and have everybody introduce themselves. You can make this as formal or informal as you want, but it is important to future members of your network to know who their fellow “AIM Family” partners will be.
  2. Show a video. AIM hosts several videos and playlists on our YouTube channel, aimusers. Consider showing the “Proven Products!” playlist, which makes explaining the features and benefits of the products easy for you.
  3. Tell your guests why you enjoy the products. It isn’t necessary to make a long, formal presentation, but offering some examples of how the AIM products have changed your life makes the information more immediate, and personal, for your guests.
  4. Hand out AIM literature. Depending on the focus of your meeting, the Living Well catalog, product datasheets, Member Income Plan guide or other literature are great handouts to share with your guests. This is also information they can take with them to read later.
  5. Invite your guests to share their experiences using the products. This is another way for you to help your guests learn more about the AIM products and business opportunity, and it also helps your guests interact and get to know each other better.
  6. Sample the AIM products. Your guests will want to try the products. With a blender and a few of your favorite smoothie recipes, you’re on your way. Mixing up a smoothie with AIM powders is a tasty way to introduce them to AIM’s nutrition that works!
  7. Offer additional information on the products or the business. As with any opportunity, some people are going to be more interested than others. For those who are interested, spend more time with them individually, explaining more about what you’ve learned about the products or the AIM business opportunity.
  8. Start and end your meeting on time. There are few things worse than being trapped by a salesperson who wants to tell you about something you aren’t interested in. To keep up the level of interest, your home meeting shouldn’t be any more than an hour and a half long. If some of your guests are really excited to get started, you can talk with them some more after you officially end the meeting, but let the other attendees go so they can think about it on their own.

Follow-up

  1. Stay in contact with your customers. As your new friends try the AIM products, they are bound to have questions. Don’t make them call you. Go that extra step and call them to answer any questions they might have.
  2. Ask your friends for referrals. As your new Members or customers become excited about the AIM products or opportunity, they are bound to have friends of their own they want to share the products with. Offer to help by hosting a home meeting for them. Working together, you can double your efforts toward success.
  3. Show satisfied users how to get the products wholesale. Many of your guests are going to be as impressed with the AIM products as you are. Teach them how they can order the products wholesale for themselves, and explain how they can further improve the quality of their lives through the AIM business opportunity.
  4. Schedule another meeting within 30 days. Now isn’t the time to slow down in your efforts. Since you’ve discovered that holding your own meetings can be rewarding and fun, make a new list of friends to invite over. Many AIM Members have proven that if you do you’ll be able to reach the level of success you are striving for.
