Fall or Spring into Weight Loss

This year in the Northern Hemisphere, spring arrives on March 20, meaning the end of winter is in sight. In the Southern Hemisphere, March 21 is the first day of autumn, so the beginning of winter is on the way. Whatever the season, this is typically the time of year when a New Year’s resolution to lose weight loses ground (or grinds to a halt).

Unfortunately, shedding pounds and keeping them off isn’t easy for most people. There are so many diet plans to choose from and often difficult to maintain. Yet the truth about putting on weight or losing weight is about balance: calories in versus calories burned.

The type and quantity of food and drink consumed daily determine the calories in. Body metabolism and physical activity determine the calories burned. What if one simple dietary change could be made to lower caloric intake yet not make a person feel hungry all the time?

Filling Up with Fiber

If you or anyone you know has been struggling to lose weight, eating fiber-rich foods and taking AIM fit ’n fiber to maintain a high-fiber intake can help to take off pounds, keep them off and keep a person healthy.

The results of a study published in 2015 in the Annals of Internal Medicine suggest that “a simplified approach to weight reduction emphasizing only increased fiber intake may be a reasonable alternative for persons with difficulty adhering to more complicated diet regimens.”1

Eating a variety of fiber-rich foods, especially fruit, legumes and vegetables, keeps your stomach feeling full without an overload of calories to burn off. And the nutrient-rich, plant-based choices are healthy for you as well.

To further increase your intake of this essential carbohydrate, supplemental fiber from fit ’n fiber can be taken as a snack or even a meal replacement especially since it delivers both insoluble and soluble fiber. A 2016 study conducted at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign determined “Soluble fiber beneficially impacts metabolism, and supplementation may be a feasible approach to improve body composition … ”2

So getting more filling fiber can be a simple change to help get the change in weight you desire.
