A Love Relationship with Mag-nificence CWR

Shared by Jacquelyn Frimpter, AIM Director

A few years ago, I was taking my morning walk with my dog. All was going well when I suddenly stepped wrong and twisted my ankle. But I continued our walk without incident.

I had a busy day scheduled, which began at my church where I had to do some computer work. As I was leaving the secretary said to me “Jacquie, you weren’t limping when you came in.”

My ankle had begun to feel very uncomfortable. So instead of completing my day’s tasks, I decided to head back home. By the time I got home, the pain was so bad I literally had to crawl into my house. Once inside, I elevated my leg and tried lymph massage but without much success. I was in agony, so I called my husband and he came home to help me.

We did some soaking with hot and cold water. Suddenly I remembered that I had AIM’s Cell Wellness Restorer (now replaced with improved Mag-nificence CWR) in my cupboard. I didn’t know much about it but had been to an AIM celebration and remembered hearing good things about CWR, so why not try it?

We soaked my ankle in the CWR for about 30 minutes. Then later at bedtime, I added it to my bath water and again soaked for about 30 minutes.

As a side note, I had planned to meet a friend the following day to go shopping and have lunch. I was sure this would not be possible and yet when I woke the next morning, I had no pain in my ankle. But I wrapped it with an elastic wrap just for support, put on my shoes and went to meet my friend. We walked all afternoon. I eventually had to take off the wrap because it was coming apart anyway. My pain was gone. Praise the Lord!

Mag-nificence CWR is a constant in my cupboards. I continue to soak with it in my baths. CWR and I have a love relationship!

NOTE: Mag-nificence topical magnesium is not only available in the CWR bath additive, but also in a moisturizing shea butter and coconut oil lotion and a convenient-size spray.

I love AIM’s Mag-nificence lotion for my sore muscles.

Sleep Mag-nificently

Magnificence

Sleep isn’t that exciting. I mean, it’s basically lying still and unaware in a dark room for an extended period of time. But to an insomniac, it’s a blissful and often unachievable Nirvana-like state. And if you’re an older adult, then there’s a fifty percent chance that you have insomnia.

Sleep is so very important. It helps us focus, keeps us in alert and in good spirits, sharpens our reaction times, affects our hormones and our immune systems. Tired people are less productive at work, grumpy and accident prone.  Sleeplessness also increases the risk of depression.

Fortunately, there is a lots of good evidence that magnesium can help people sleep and sleep well. For example, there was that 2012 study, that found that magnesium supplementation was able to lower cortisol concentrations. Cortisol, of course, is commonly known as the stress hormone. That’s probably why insomnia sufferers who supplemented with magnesium were able to improve the quality of their ZZZs.

Journal of Research in Medical Science

Supplementation of magnesium appears to improve subjective measures of insomnia such as ISI score, sleep efficiency, sleep time and sleep onset latency, early morning awakening, and likewise, insomnia objective measures such as concentration of serum renin, melatonin, and serum cortisol, in elderly people.

And in 2009, a report called “Effects of trace element nutrition on sleep patterns in adult women” found that both calcium and magnesium taken together were effective at alleviating sleep problems…

Calcium, vitamin D supplement
Like, in this way, for example

…because one of the main symptoms of magnesium deficiency is insomnia and that a high-magnesium diet had been associated with a deeper, uninterrupted sleep. And calcium helped the brain create melatonin known for its ability to summon the sandman.

So if your midday catnaps have been catnap-napped, it’s time to consider magnesium supplementation!
