Chairman’s Club Director Dr. Mary Ruth Swope was honored at the 2016 AIM Conference in Branson, Missouri for becoming a member of the Eight Million Dollar Club. Dr. Swope has been with The AIM Companies for over three decades and has done much to spread the word about the nutritional powers of green barley through her television appearances, radio broadcasts and by penning books like Green Leaves of Barley. As a professional educator, Dr. Swope was able to raise awareness of nutrition during the ’80s, ’90s and into the current century. Over the last thirty years, her AIM business has made it possible for her to donate generously to charity.

Dr. Swope has a long and storied career that began with a bachelor’s in home economics from Winthrop College, a master’s degree in foods and nutrition from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and a doctorate in administration from Columbia University. She was recently honored by Eastern Illinois University, where she served as the Department Chair and the Dean of Economics. She’s also written several books on Christianity and health.

One of the ways that she grew her AIM business was by donating BarleyLife to pastors and asking them to give the product to churchgoers who were ill. Many of those who felt better after taking BarleyLife began purchasing the product and using it regularly, but Dr. Swope wasn’t interested in the money. Her only goal was to help people.

“You can’t out-give good,” she said during her speech in Branson.

The money that she made from selling AIM products was donated to pastors, ministries, orphans, widows and other various charities. She continues her good works today.

“AIM has meant so much to me. I didn’t mean to be in business at all. I was a university professor and a mother of two children. Anyway, the Lord just kept blessing me and increasing me and helping me to increase myself. So here I am sitting in this chair, happy as a June bug that I’m ninety-six years old. I’m very happy to be alive, and I’m very healthy.”
