Beetroot Juice

If you are an AIM Member or Customer, then you have probably made lifestyle choices that include consuming a wholesome diet and supplementing that intake with natural products that improve and maintain your health. And best of all, you have likely chosen selections such as RediBeets whole-food powder from AIM’s high-quality natural products, which have been providing health benefits for over four decades.

It’s interesting to note that around the time that AIM introduced its first food powder made from young green barley grass, research on nutrition introduced the term “whole food, plant-based.” The key components of this healthy choice is to reduce meat intake and focus on whole grains, vegetables, seeds, nuts and fruits. Research continues to show that the healthiest nutrition is a whole-food, primarily plant-based diet. And a very recent study focused on the healthiness of a beet red plant-based juice.

A New Look at Beetroot Juice

A trial study published in Nutrients (2024) looked at the incredible benefits of beetroot juice for those who have issues with blood pressure and glucose regulation. Made from a unique, nutritious root vegetable, beetroot juice provides an excellent source of vegetable nitrate. The human body converts this nitrate to nitric oxide, which relaxes and widens blood vessels and reduces glucose in the blood. People who have blood glucose issues tend to have decreased nitric-oxide activity, which was the focus of this recent study.

The participants in the trial had health problems that included blood glucose and blood pressure issues. Simply by drinking beetroot juice during the trial, the results they experienced  included lower glucose levels in the blood, lower blood pressure and increased bioavailability of nitric oxide. All the more remarkable, these benefits occurred in under a month’s time simply by using a plant-based source of beet nutrition.

It’s likely that as time goes by, even more research will point in a plant-based direction that maintains optimal health.
