Lycopene and Reproductive Health

Supplements that support the reproductive health of men are focused more often than not on older males. Then along comes a recent study that determined younger men can benefit from the plant nutrient that gives tomatoes their red color: lycopene, one of the most potent dietary antioxidants.1

The study was undertaken to examine the possible benefits lycopene may provide for couples dealing with infertility due to poor sperm quality. Fifty-six healthy male volunteers between the ages of 18 and 30 took part in the double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized trial.

The results published in the March 2020 issue of European Journal of Nutrition revealed that supplementing daily with 14 milligrams of lycopene extract for 12 weeks improved the shape and speed of sperm—factors in male fertility.2

AIM Sources of Supplemental Lycopene

ReAssure SP delivers effective, natural ingredients that support prostate health. The main function of the prostate is to secrete a fluid that provides essential enzymes and ensures sperm motility and function.3 Along with saw palmetto berry oil, pumpkin seed oil and zinc, each serving of ReAssure provides 5 mg of supplemental lycopene, which helps to support male fertility.

Proancynol 2000 reduces free radical damage and supports the immune system by delivering a diverse variety of antioxidants. One of its seven antioxidant ingredients is lycopene, and each serving of Proancynol 2000 provides 2 mg of this nutrient that supports reproductive health.

Further studies have shown that minerals such as zinc and various antioxidants, including selenium and N-acetyl-cysteine, are beneficial as well,4 making Proancynol 2000 and ReAssure SP reproductively supportive choices for guys.
