CoCoa LeafGreens and FloraFood: A Winning Combination

IMG_9011

Cocoa and probiotics seem like an unlikely pair, but if you think about it, there was probably a time when peanut butter didn’t know jelly’s sweet embrace or when bacon was eggless. But a new study from the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry suggests that the gut microbiome interacts with cocoa flavanols and their confluence may help stave off metabolic syndrome.

Here is how it supposedly works.  According to the study, when somebody eats cocoa, it gets concentrated in the intestines. Cocoa, as you probably know, is chock-full of flavanols and antioxidants. Those flavanols interacted with the gut flora and improved gut barrier function, reducing the amount of toxins absorbed, specifically circulating endotoxins and insulin signalers. And that sort of thing doesn’t do pesky, old metabolic syndrome any favors.

Flavonoids Linked to Better Weight Management

IMG_8914

If you’re a fan of fruits, vegetables and wholefood juice concentrates made from those things, then I have some good news for you. A new study published in the British Medical Journal has discovered that flavonoids from fruits and vegetables may help reduce weight gain.

Researchers looked at data gathered in the Nurse’s Health Study, the Nurse’s Health Study II and the Health Professionals Follow Up Study and found that people who regularly ate flavonoid-laden fruits and veggies gained 0.16 to 0.23 pounds less than the yearly standard deviation. On average, men gain 2.2 pounds in a four-year period and women gain about 2.9 pounds, so those fractions can really add up over time.

These are the following flavonoids they studied.

Flavanones (eriodictyol, hesperetin, and naringenin), anthocyanins (cyanidin, delphinidin, malvidin, pelargonidin, petunidin, and peonidin), flavan-3-ols (catechin, gallocatechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin, epicatechin 3-gallate, and epigallocatechin 3-gallate), proanthocyanidins (dimers, trimers, 4-6mers, 7-10mers, and polymers), flavonoid polymers (proanthocyanidins, theaflavins, and thearubigins), flavonols (quercetin, kaempferol, myricetin, and isorhamnetin), and flavones (luteolin and apigenin)—as well as total flavonoids

Anthocyanins, flavonoid polymers and flavonols were the most strongly associated with these benefits. Losing weight is a great confidence booster, but it also improves cardiovascular health and lowers blood pressure. So get more fruits, veggies and flavonoids in your diet with AIM products!

Anthocyanins are commonly found in cherries like you’d find in BarleyLife Xtra or Red Rush.

The flavonoid polymers are the ones you’ll find in teas, grapes and chocolate. For these, try Proancynol 2000.

And you’ll get a healthy dose of flavonols in LeafGreens.

A High-Fiber Diet May Lower Risk of Breast Cancer

IMG_8897

There’s been a real bulk of fiber news these past few weeks. It’s been linked to a healthier gut, a lower risk of lung disease, fewer Crohn’s disease flare ups, and it has also been found to help with weight loss for the umpteenth time.

The latest study discovered that women who ate more high-fiber foods during adolescence and young adulthood had a significantly lower risk of breast cancer.  If a large percentage of  fiber came from fruits and veggies, then the better their statistical likelihood.

Harvard researchers used data gathered from the 90,000+ women surveyed for the Nurses’ Health Study II. The healthcare professionals who participated in that large-scale, long-term study were asked to report their diet over a number of years. Other factors like genetics and environment were also figured in.

After sifting through the data, the researchers were able to determine that women who ate more dietary fiber in their young adulthood had a 12%-19% lower rate of breast cancer during that time. Women who consumed more fiber during their adolescence had their overall risk lessened by 16% and a 24% decreased risk of contracting the illness prior to menopause. Each additional 10 g of fiber eaten during adolescence seemed to reduce the risk of breast cancer by 13%.  The study stresses that those who ate the most fruits and veggies saw the greatest benefits.

Researchers attribute these findings to fiber’s ability to diminish high estrogen levels which have been linked with breast cancer. The study was published in the February 2016 issue of Pediatrics.

Although everyone should increase the amount of fruits and vegetables they eat, it doesn’t hurt to reach for a bit of all-natural supplemental fiber like Herbal Fiberblend or fit ‘n fiber.  It’s a low-calorie way to feel fuller longer, ease digestion, and it’s been linked to heart health as well as overall wellness.

A Great Testimony Has Grown My AIM Business

Great Testimony

I am a mother of four children ages 11 (Zani), 9 (Roan), 7 (Carla) and 2 (Jolanda). As a mom, my children and I have struggled a lot with health issues. I went in search of a more natural way of solving our health problems.

I met Royal Emerald Director Madaleine Helm in July 2014. My son Roan was sick all the time. He complained about a stomach ache for quite a few years which X-ray’s showed as constipation. As he got older, he often had bronchitis, terrible headaches and neck pains, later on diarrhea for weeks. I thought that this could be a food allergy.

Madaleine convinced me to take Roan for an allergy test; it came back with gluten, milk, egg and peanut sensitivity. Since then, we started using AIM BarleyLife to address the inflammation caused by the food sensitivity; we used AIM FloraFood to restore good bacteria in the small intestine and help strengthen the immune system. Herbal Fiberblend helped get rid of the constipation and diarrhea.

Carla our daughter also had ongoing stomach pain. X-rays, a CT scan and blood tests did not show anything, and then after a food sensitivity test, she was found to be sensitive to forty-four different foods. We, as a family, decided to go gluten- and dairy-free. All of us are really feeling the difference. My husband (Johan) who was not a fan of the “natural way” felt the great benefits of the AIM products, and now he is doing a lot of marketing for me. He has the Garden Trio every morning before work. He takes his Red Rush to help him perform better during his squash games.

After our family started using the products, I really had the passion to help other people with their health issues. Madaleine started doing talks for me and helps me a lot with her knowledge. After just over a year, I have one Director under me and a few people working hard to become Director soon. The best part of my AIM business is all the great testimonies of my clients and how the products have helped them with their health.

Building my AIM business was a great opportunity for me to start earning an extra income while still being with my children at home. I can plan my own work schedule. For me it is easy to market the AIM products because my family has a great testimony. I really think you first need to use the AIM products yourself, have a testimony and then share with other people. That is the only way to make a huge success of the AIM business. I don’t look back one day with regret. I am just so grateful that the AIM business has come along. I plan to keep working very hard in the new year and encourage people to also start a business; that’s the only way my AIM business can grow.

I have a good relationship with the people at South Africa’s AIM office and they are also very helpful; that makes my business also worth it. Thanks to AIM for giving me such an opportunity. It’s not such a long time that my family and I have been part of the AIM family, but what a huge difference it has made in our life. It’s unbelievable.

The Business of Improving Lives

Grays

When you have products like AIM BarleyLife®, there is no limit to the number of people who will benefit from Nutrition that Works! Just ask Doug and Fran Gray in Bond Head, Ontario.

In July 2015, the Grays reconnected with George and Muriel McPherson (AIM Chairman Club Directors) and promoted from reinstated Members to AIM Directors by October. Within five months, they signed up thirty-one new Members, offering them the health benefits of the AIM nutritional line-up.

Doug and Fran’s motivation is to make people well and improve the quality of their lives. While some of their new downline have known the Grays for years, others became Members after Doug and Fran told them about the simplicity of getting great nutrition with products such as the AIM Garden Trio®.

By introducing people to AIM, Doug and Fran earned $1,167 in the Branson Bucks Contest. They are already looking forward to traveling to Missouri for the 2016 conference. AIM congratulates them on their remarkable achievements.

As husband and wife and great friends, Doug and Fran’s journey together has allowed them to travel the globe. Their many life experiences include starting a drug clinic at an orphanage hospital in Toronto, befriending Mother Theresa in India and becoming life members of the American, British and Canadian Societies of Dowsers (water diviners). In 2013, the Grays were invited to the eightieth anniversary of the British Society of Dowsers in Cirencester, England, where Doug was the keynote speaker.

A respected elder of the Mi’gmaq (Micmac) First Nation, Doug, whose given name is White Eagle, has conducted ceremonies at notable locations around the world including the Cu Chi Tunnels of Saigon, the Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal. Being an ordained, nondenominational minister, Doug also presides over baptisms, weddings, funerals and other ceremonies.

Doug and Fran feel their involvement with AIM adds much to their long list of life-enriching experiences. AIM nutrition can be a key for turning people’s poor health around. “Miracles can happen, and BarleyLife is a miracle,” Doug stated. “People need to be healthy and happy, and they have the right to fulfill their journeys. Why would we not help each other?”

Are You Being Framed?

IMG_9047

How much thought do you give to your frame? Your skeletal frame is movable because of joints. Otherwise, you’d be one inflexible bone. When it comes to the point where one bone meets another, you have three main kinds of joints:

1 Fibrous – immovable joints like teeth joined to bone sockets
2 Cartilaginous – partially movable joints like those in the vertebrae of your spine
3 Synovial – freely movable joints including knees, elbows and shoulders

The buffer that covers bone ends making up a joint is mostly cartilage. This smooth, strong, protective tissue can become inflamed or start to deteriorate over the years. A past injury can return as joint pain later on in life. Most commonly, the onset of joint inflammation—osteoarthritis—can occur as the years go by. It is a sad fact of life that the aging process often sends warning signals in the form of joint pain. That’s the time to consider being framed … by Frame Essentials®.

The four effective ingredients in Frame Essentials were chosen to create the finest team of nutrients that combat joint pain and provide building blocks for healthy joints.

Glucosamine is a vital component that the body uses to not only make cartilage but tendons, ligaments and joint (synovial) fluid as well as bone, heart valves and skin. Studies show the longer the use of supplemental glucosamine, the greater the benefits, so Frame Essentials is ideal for long-term use.

Boswellia extract has been used for centuries as treatment for inflammatory conditions. Most of the research focuses on this tree resin’s triterpenoids, including the boswellic acids that reduce swelling and stiffness in the joints.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a natural sulfur compound that the body uses to form connective tissue in muscles and joints. Supplemental MSM helps to reduce inflammation and repair joints as well as provide additional antioxidant protection and immune system support.

Heart Healthy Nutrition

Heart Healthy Nutrition

Your heart pumps 2,000 gallons of blood per day. It’s able to work so hard because it’s a muscle, but because it’s a muscle, it’s also very fragile. Unlike many of the cells in our bodies, muscle cells don’t divide, and since they don’t divide, they can’t regenerate. When the heart is injured during a heart attack, part of the muscle dies and stays dead.

The good news is that heart disease can be prevented through mindfulness: exercise, diet and nutrition, abstention from smoking, alcohol and other drugs and through the proper management of stress. While The AIM Companies can’t bottle exercise—although we came close with Red Rush—we can offer top-tier nutrition for overall cardiovascular health.

Vegetable Nitrates in RediBeets and Red Rush

The nitrates in processed meats are bad news, but the nitrates in vegetables are the opposite kind of news. The body is able to convert dietary nitrate from beet juice into nitric oxide, a vasodilator now believed to be as important to the respiration cycle as oxygen or carbon dioxide. Nitric oxide causes the blood vessels to widen and blood pressure to drop, taking a lot of strain off the heart. Clinical trials on healthy males have shown that the drop is usually 4 to 5 points.

Recently, researchers at Washington State School of Medicine in Saint Louis gave beet juice to a small group of heart failure patients. When the patients drank beet juice, they exhibited 13% more muscle power. This is comparable to the magnitude of force a heart failure patient could normally exert after 2 to 3 months of regular resistance training.

Fiber in Herbal Fiberblend and fit ‘n fiber

Fiber has been associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and coronary heart disease in healthy people. A Harvard study of over 40,000 men found that a high fiber diet reduced the risk of coronary heart disease by 40%. Another large study on about 30,000 Seventh Day Adventists produced similar results.

Additionally, soluble fiber has been shown to lower cholesterol levels. Simply adding 5-10 grams to your diet may decrease your LDL cholesterol levels by up to 5 percent, but if you combine fiber supplementation with a low-fat diet, it may be possible to lower your cholesterol levels by 25 percent.

A fiber-rich diet has also been shown to decrease the risk of stroke, diabetes and obesity, all strongly associated with heart disease.

Magnesium in Mag-nificence, Cell Wellness Restorer or CalciAIM

Nearly four out of five North Americans aren’t getting enough magnesium in their diets. While most of those people are only magnesium insufficient, those that have severe deficiencies may experience rapid heartbeat as well as other changes in the heart. A severe deficiency may also lead to heart failure. Magnesium regulates the heart’s rhythm and without it, the heart wouldn’t beat at all.

Not only has regular magnesium intake been linked to a small drop in blood pressure, but it has also been affiliated with lower risk of coronary heart disease and sudden cardiac
death. But wait, there’s more! Magnesium is often used as part of the treatment for irregular heartbeats, atrial fibrillation and congestive heart failure. It’s been found to lower the stress hormone cortisol, a chemical known for increasing inflammation and blood pressure. Plus, stress is bad for the heart in general. So relax your weary heart with magnesium.

Omega Fatty Acids in AIMega

Essential fatty acids are well-known for their heart-healthy properties. AIMega provides essential fatty acids from plants instead of fish. Although most scientific studies have focused on fish oil, a study done by scientists at Penn State and published in Advances in Nutrition found that essential fatty acids from plants were just as effective as fish oil when it came to cardiovascular health.

In randomized clinical trials on people with and without coronary heart disease, omega-3 fatty acids were shown to reduce the likelihood of strokes, heart attacks and death caused by coronary events. Essential fatty acids have also been shown to decrease triglyceride levels, inflammatory responses, the risk of arrhythmias, thrombosis and the growth of atherosclerotic plaque. It may also improve endothelial function and lower blood pressure.

CellSparc 360 with CoQ10

Coenzyme Q10 (aka CoQ10) has strong antioxidant properties and plays a role in the conversion of food into energy. Because CoQ10 improves energy production in the cells, it is believed to provide cardiovascular protection. Most notably, folks with lower levels of CoQ10 in their bodies—it’s found in nearly every cell—tend to have higher levels of cholesterol. CoQ10 has been shown to reduce side effects like muscle pains from CoQ10-lowering statins.

CoQ10 may lower blood pressure and improve endothelial functioning. It’s often given to people after a heart attack, heart surgery or heart failure and is used to protect heart damage caused by chemotherapy.

In Conclusion

AIM offers plenty of other heart-healthy options as well. Vitamin K in BarleyLife and LeafGreens has been shown to protect arterial health. The cocoa flavanols in CoCoa LeafGreens show promise for blood pressure control due to antioxidant properties. And probiotics like FloraFood may have potential for preventing cardiovascular issues. Any way you look at it, the AIM products are a part of a heart-friendly lifestyle and a nutritious diet. So look after that strong, yet vulnerable heart of yours with help from AIM.
